Removing the Head
The only tool needed is a flat
blade. I am using my Swiss
Army knife file blade.

Gently push the blade in to the seam between the insert and the outer head pieces. Rock
the blade forward and back and "walk" it around the insert piece. About the second lap
the insert will begin to lift out of the outer head piece. It is kind of like opening a tin can.

It will slide right out.
Remove the rubber connector from the insert.
The connector piece can be thrown away.
