Stringing (Continued)
I'm switching to these
clamps from the
clothes pins. They
clamp a little tighter
and allow a better
view of what is going
on.
Next the tension or tightness must be adjusted. The blue
arrows show the alignment points. This works best when
all 4 of these slots align like this.
Hold the forearms in each hand with your two
little fingers. Pull both forearms straight out
from the shoulders and keep the tension on.
With the tension held the upper arm pieces will float on
the elastic strips and allow you to adjust the tension on
the strip that goes accross the chest from arm hole to
arm hole. You will feel which side is tight or loose. Keep
moving the upper arm pieces back and forth until you feel
an even tension. If it is loose then pull out the two strips
that come out of the neck hole and clamp. You may have
to repeat this a few times until it feels right.
It's getting tighter and tighter.
You can adjust the arms individually too, by
adjusting the strips that run from the arm to
the neck. Remember that to adjust the strip
on the left arm, you need to pull up on the
strip that is on the right side.
I find that the tension
is about right when
you can pull out one
arm(without it being
really tight) about as
far as is shown
above. Next check
the other arm.
